Terms of Service
Last updated May 9, 2026.
Plain-English version: use the service for what it's for (verifying email addresses your application is about to interact with), don't try to break it or use it to abuse other people, and we'll do our best to keep it running. Free tier comes with no guarantees.
What this is
vrfymail is an HTTP API operated by Wiremo that returns a
verdict (deliverable, undeliverable, risky, unknown) for an email
address you submit. By signing up, creating an API key, or
calling any endpoint at
vrfymail.com,
you agree to these terms.
Acceptable use
You can verify any email address your application is about to interact with — signups, contact forms, password resets, your own outbound list. You cannot:
- Verify addresses you obtained without consent (scraping public web pages or buying lists, then asking us to validate).
-
Use the API to enumerate or harvest valid addresses across a
domain (e.g. probing
a@x.com,b@x.com,c@x.com… looking for live mailboxes). - Build a competing email-verification service by reselling our verdicts.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, mass-fetch, or otherwise extract our domain database for redistribution.
- Send abusive traffic (DoS, sustained bursts beyond your plan's limits, automated retries on 429, etc.) — your key gets revoked.
We may suspend or revoke any API key that's clearly being used in bad faith without prior notice. We'll email the account holder when we do.
Your account
Keep your API key secret. We hash it before storing, so we can't recover it for you — if it leaks, revoke it from /dashboard/keys and create a new one. You're responsible for traffic made with any of your active keys.
Quotas and pricing
Each plan includes a monthly verify budget that resets on the 1st
of each month UTC. Hitting the limit returns
429 until rollover or
upgrade. The Free plan is permanent — we won't quietly start
billing you for it. Paid plans, when they launch, will be
announced in-product before any charge.
Repeat verifies of the same address by the same key within a 7-day window are served from cache and don't count toward your quota.
Service availability
vrfymail is provided "as is" without an explicit uptime SLA. We run on Cloudflare's edge, which historically delivers better than 99.9%, but we don't promise specific availability or latency numbers on the Free tier. When paid plans launch, the Scale plan will include an SLA target with credit-back terms.
We may make breaking API changes with at least 30 days' notice to active accounts via email. Non-breaking additions (new response fields, new endpoints) ship without notice.
Data + privacy
How we handle data is documented in our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you agree to that policy too.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing hi@vrfymail.com. We can terminate yours for material breach of these terms (clearest examples: harvest abuse, payment failure on a paid plan, attempts to attack the service). On termination, your API keys stop accepting traffic immediately and your data is removed per the deletion timelines in the Privacy Policy.
Liability
vrfymail is a heuristic. A
deliverable verdict
means the address looks reachable to the best of our
information; it does not guarantee the recipient will receive,
read, or act on a message you send them. An
undeliverable verdict
is a recommendation to reject — final policy is yours.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months and (b) USD 100. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost revenue, lost emails, lost business.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Wiremo is registered. Disputes that can't be resolved by good- faith email exchange go to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
Changes
We'll update this page with a new "last updated" date when anything substantive changes. For breaking changes we'll email the account holder at least 30 days in advance.
Contact
Anything unclear or unfair — email hi@vrfymail.com. We'd rather fix the wording than argue it.
This page is provided as a starting point. It's not legal advice and probably won't survive contact with a real lawyer; review it with one before relying on it for compliance.
